Meet the Maker
Sunbird began in 2021 in a little mountain cabin in Colorado, but its roots reach much further back.
Some of my earliest memories of feeling truly at home were summers spent in Wyoming—running wild, riding horses, gathering things from the earth, and learning the particular kind of beauty that exists in the American West.
Years later, that same longing for a life closer to nature found its way into the things I began making for my own family. Simple preparations from nourishing fats, herbs, flowers and oils. Things made slowly, with my own hands, and with an understanding of where they came from.
What began as Humble Hive Co. eventually grew into Sunbird Collective: our small family apothecary and mercantile here in Colorado.
Today, we render our own tallow, infuse herbs, distill botanicals, formulate our skincare in small batches, and gather a small collection of useful and beautiful goods from makers whose work we admire.
Sunbird is, in many ways, a collection of the things I want to keep close—good ingredients, skilled hands, old traditions, wild places, and the everyday rituals that make a home.
I’m so glad you found your way here.

Made here, by hand.
Much of what you'll find in our apothecary begins here. We render our tallow in-house using a slow, traditional dry method, infuse whole herbs into oils, distill botanical waters, and make our preparations in small batches.
We care deeply about the ingredients we begin with—and just as deeply about what happens to them before they reach your skin.
The Mercantile
Alongside the things we make, we gather pieces from other makers whose work feels at home here—goods made with skill, natural materials and an appreciation for things meant to be used and kept.
It is a small collection by design: things for skin, home and a life lived a little closer to the rhythms that inspire Sunbird.
